What Do You Imagine?

Hello friends,

What sort of life do you dream of having? How close is that dream to your current reality?

What sort of world do you dream of for us all? How close is that dream to our current reality?

Dreams begin in imagination. In a feeling in our bodies. In the wishes of our hearts. Dreams are important. Right now? A highly privileged few are doing their utmost to destroy our dreams.

We cannot let them.

We must defend our dreams. We must defend each other’s dreams.

I’ve always been a dreamer. When I was young, I was told my dreams for the world were unrealistic. I knew that was a lie. I had a deep sense of conviction that my dreams were rooted in reality. What those people called “realistic” meant “more convenient for my life, and a way to make more money and uphold the status quo.”

The same was said for my dreams for my own life.

But here, many decades later, I see the results of their attempts to “be realistic” about the world. They’ve ended exactly where I feared. No. Actually, things are worse.

And as for my life, well, my dogged, neurodivergent insistence on living my own way has turned out pretty well indeed. It has not been easy, by any means, but that’s okay. My life path took twists and turns beyond my imagination’s reach, but I just kept going.

Here’s the things about dreams, though: they cannot remain in the imagination if we are to help shape them. We must dream, and then choose, and then act.

What are you dreaming of today? What choices will you make to help shape and manifest those dreams?

Best wishes — Thorn
