Full Moon Prayers

Hello friends,

Last night was the full moon. I always take some time to pause, recenter, make some magic and send out some prayers during this time. Ever since I was young, the moon has been a reminder that I’m on a planet, moving among other planets and stars, circling around the sun.

I’m also reminded there is vastness beyond our own solar system.

This sense of expansion reassures me. Why? Because time and space are both immense, which puts the many trials and woes we suffer here on earth into perspective. Yes, we must work to alleviate suffering. Also yes, suffering is not all there is. We cannot know the outcome of our actions, but we must act. Each small action becomes one minuscule moment in the larger arc of time.

Last night, as part of my work, I began to repeat a prayer. It is a prayer I’m committing to saying daily at least until the next full moon rises in the sky.

The prayer is a simple string of words. The important thing about the prayer is the feeling behind those words. As I recite them, I open my heart and imagine the qualities from these words being poured out across the world.

“Love, healing, compassion, justice, joy. Love, healing, compassion, justice, joy. Love, healing, compassion, justice, joy.”

See? Simple. But can you feel the words in your body, heart, and mind? I can. I wish all of these for you, your loved ones, and your communities.

I wish love, healing, compassion, justice, and joy for us all.

Best wishes — Thorn
